Red Komodo X with Canon RF 200-800mm telephoto lens for an event live coverage.

These are our thoughts:
Cine rigs are never design-built for live event coverage.
It works as part of a multi camera setup, but we feel its never fast enough for spontaneous, fast & critical footage acquisition.
With this particular lens setup, we think our operational speed is slowed by as much as 50%.
One can rig it up with rails and rods, but if its not a robust rig, its going to shake like mad too.
Manual pull focusing is just too slow, AF & face detect was iffy, primitive and hunts way too many times. Camera boot up timing is also slow, so its definitely not great for work where you need some level of urgency.
We have too many complaints coming from the point of view of a fast paced ENG, fluid-shooting environment. These kind of setups are to be used in a more controlled environment like filmmaking, corporate broll/interviews.
