Khalnayak (1993) is an action crime thriller directed by Subhash Ghai, starring Sanjay Dutt as Balaram Prasad "Ballu," Madhuri Dixit as Ganga (Gangotri Devi), Jackie Shroff as Inspector Ram Kumar Sinha, Rakhee Gulzar as Aarti Prasad, Anupam Kher as Ishwar Girdhar Pandey (jailor), Ramya Krishnan as Ballu's Mistress, Pramod Moutho as Roshan Mahanta, Sushmita Mukherjee as Mrs. Pandey, A.K. Hangal as Shaqat Bhai, and Neena Gupta as Champa Didi.

The plot revolves around Ballu, a young terrorist who escapes from jail, causing distress and anguish for his jailor, Ishwar Girdhar Pandey. Inspector Ram Kumar Sinha is tasked with recapturing Ballu, but Ballu manages to escape. Ram's girlfriend, Ganga, who is also a police officer, goes undercover and joins Ballu's gang to lure him back into custody. The film follows the intense chase and the efforts of Ram and Ganga to bring Ballu to justice.

It's a gripping story filled with action, drama, and romance, with memorable performances and a popular soundtrack.

Ballu (Sanjay Dutt), a notorious, cunning, and unscrupulous criminal who's wanted by the police for a plethora of murders and thefts. Bright and ambitious Inspector Ram (Jackie Shroff) finally arrests him, only to have Ballu escape right under his nose. So Ram's lovely girlfriend Ganga (Madhuri Dixit) volunteers to go undercover, to trap Ballu and help restore Ram's reputation. Things get more complicated, however, when Ballu falls for her, and she finds that she isn't entirely immune to his charms.
