Hey guys just a video for anyone wishing to learn how to do rust work on your older car. Here install about the 4 step process to doing a repair on an inner rear wheel well on a 2010 Ford Fusion.
Step number 1.) Grind and find out how much actual metal you have to work with.
Step number 2.) Fabricate your self a paper/card board temp plate. And take your time to make it fit and shape it the best you can. It will save you lots of time the more you perfect your template.
Step number 3.) Turn your template into a metal fabrication that you can bend and shape and position as perfectly as possible to your weld position. The better it’s lined up the easier it is to get the job done.
Step number 4.) Weld your new piece that you have literally created from scratch. Make sure your area is clean to weld. And take your time. This is the home stretch. And now where you had giant holes and nothing you just revived your ride. Great job. Of course now you can grind down your welds. Maybe fiberglass if need be. And get some primer and paint on it to finish the job and give it some shine once again.
