I Found K-2SO In A Junkyard! (experimenting with real rust for weathering Star Wars droid props)

Over the last two weeks, I put a new “grungy weathering technique” notch in my belt… Oxidizing iron filings for a real rust effect!

A soft goal of mine is to, one day, build and paint a life-size K-2SO droid. However, due to budget and time constraints, just his head had to suffice for now.

I’ve seen many people working with the DroidDivision files (which are incredible by the way), and in an effort to make my build stand out, I decided to give his head a heavily weathered look, as if his parts had been found in a junkyard. Now, I know that this isn't exactly a realistic addition to Star Wars canon, but let’s just pretend that after the destruction of the Imperial base on Scarif, somehow junkers were able to salvage a few remaining pieces of K-2 and miraculously, despite being directly in the Death Star’s laser blast radius, he’s still in relatively good condition.😅
