This bus line is what one would call, modest. There isn't anything interesting about it to say the least. The LocalLink 73, for what seems by accident, became an heir apparent successor to the old ole' Route 27 (pre- 2001) that operate the same route; more specifically, the Hollins Ferry Road portion before it was reassigned to the original Route 51 (now LocalLink 26). This is significant history to this line but it isn't anything to gawk about... except that it serves the neighborhood I was born & raised in of Lakeland [hence the alias "MJof𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱"].
This line connects to the Camden Sports Complex and Greyhound Terminal & Horseshoe Casino while snaking through some of Baltimore's forgotten neighborhoods in the southside. On the north-end, the Pennsylvania Avenue section is the epidemy, among many other things since, of BaltimoreLink doing too much. In case you didn't know of it's history, the no. 7 line ran the entire course of Pennsylvania Avenue for generations, and I mean since the beginning of the horse carriage. That line, of several iterations, has outlived some neighborhoods that were nothing than farmlands and woodlands. Again, like a lot of things since June 17, 2017, it created an unneeded deterrent to a corridor that had thru-service.
In 2024, the line was given an extension to the recently opened Amazon -- ONE more out of TEN of Jeff Bezos's sweatshops across the Greater Baltimore region -- in the industrial sector that makes up Wagner's Point. Now, why did they did choose the Link 73?... I dunno. Especially with the CityLink SILVER literally sitting 2-3 minutes around the corner from in Curtis Bay, or even the LocalLink 67 "The Forgotten Line" does also runs in the vicinity of the industrial area. Its a headscratcher to be honest and just adds more unnecessary travel time and resources needed to fulfill the service.
Otherwise, the LocalLink 73 is... modest.
