The Pathivara Mata Temple is a significant Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal's Taplejung district, situated at an altitude of 3,794 meters. It is known as the "Goddess of Desires," believed to grant the wishes of its devotees, and attracts thousands of pilgrims annually from Nepal and India. Origin story: According to local legend, the temple was built after a Limbu shepherd had a dream where the goddess instructed him to perform a ritualistic sacrifice of sheep to honor her.
