This is a 1963-1964 Olson RA530 12 channel CB radio I restored electronically back to working condition. It receives all 23 channels but to transmit, requires large crystals, and there's only room for 12. This was done before crystal mixing became a thing, as crystals in the early 1960's were expensive, and not everyone needed all 23 channels.
I have replaced the power cord, all electrolytic capacitors, cleaned all the tube sockets, cleaned all the controls and switches, tested the tubes (one was bad) and gave it a good cleaning.
Unfortunately the channel selector broke but I was able to bypass that to make the radio work again, on one channel at a time by changing the crystal under the meter. Also the stock Shure CA-90 mic element is burned out, so I am using a D104M6B in it's place.
This video is the first time I've talked to anyone on this radio. The guy on the other end is early bird who lives a mile away.
