Do you often wake up at 3 or 4 a.m. sharp? Tossing and turning, unable to fall back asleep, thinking it's because you're “getting old” or “your sleep has become lighter”? In fact, this could be your body sending you a warning signal!
Master Ni Haishu, a renowned Chinese medicine expert, pointed out that from 3 to 5 a.m. (the hour of Yin) is when the “lung meridian” is most active. However, looking back to 1 to 3 a.m. (the hour of Chou), it's the “liver meridian” that dominates. If you consistently wake up at this transition point between 3 and 4 a.m., it's likely not a lung issue, but rather a blockage in the “liver meridian”!
When the liver meridian is blocked, qi and blood circulation becomes impaired. This can cause people to wake at specific times, often accompanied by irritability, dry mouth, and dry eyes.
