UPPER PALGUIN

The Upper Palguin is a short and sweet Chilean classic. This was one of the rivers I was most excited to paddle in Chile, and it quickly became a favorite.

With a short hike in, you'll find yourself at a natural land bridge and the put-in for the Upper Palguin. This is the most unique and beautiful put-in I have ever experienced. Immediately after the seal launch, you arrive at the infamous Double Drop, this is the perfect rapid to work on boat control, boofing, and downriver freestyle. Just past some boogie water downstream, you arrive at the 12-foot waterfall. Just around the corner, you arrive at the 20-foot waterfall that is popular for freestyle. After one last boof, you will find yourself at the takeout, and it's time to start hiking back to the car.

The Upper Palguin is a gem, and I hope this video inspires you to put it on your bucket list!
