Vignettes from an April 15, 2015 interview with Stanley Baron, Detroit native who'd signed in 1945 a Detroit Tigers contract and was assigned to Jamestown, its Class D affiliate. Before he could begin play he was drafted into the Army where he served through 1946. In 1947, after preseason in Hershey, the Tigers sent him to Nazareth in the North Atlantic League. In 1950, he was signed by the New York giants and played in Sanford of the Florida League.
