In this video, I finish the standing and running rigging and prepare the sails for installation. I also made new flags for the model. This is the last part of this video series. I really enjoyed working on this model, but I strongly advise against it for beginners. Since I had some experience working with wood and building models, there were many aspects of this project that would be either impossible or very difficult for beginners to accomplish. 📖 History of model: The Gretel was built in the mid-18th century based on construction plans by Fredrik Af Chapman and represents a particularly successful example of excursion and pleasure boats of that era. The design already shows a great resemblance to the layout of modern yachts. What is interesting about the Gretel is its quite respectable sail area in relation to the hull. It was certainly comparatively fast on the water.
