2 in Twelve – Episode 8: Two Whole Houses

Designing and building a home is a challenge at the best of times, let alone two homes in twelve weeks. This hasn’t stopped The Stables interior stylist Catherine Heraghty from attempting to do it, with the help of Future Flip builder, Neil Hipwell.

If you love home design, renovation, and building, then our new series 2 in Twelve is for you. 2 in Twelve follows Catherine and Neil as they attempt the seemingly impossible feat of constructing two homes in 12 weeks.

In this episode of 2 in Twelve, Catherine and Neil take us through the completed homes in their duplex project—Catherine’s “forever” home, and the investment property.

Each home has its own concept for the interior design and styling, which was selected right at the beginning and adhered to throughout. The forever home has more of a contemporary Australian feel, and the investment property has more of a coastal theme.

As for the exteriors, the homes are a mirror image of each other. Both feature linear weatherboard cladding upstairs and vertical cladding downstairs. The upstairs cladding is painted a stark white hue and the downstairs exterior a contrasting darker colour—a striking facade with kerb appeal in spades.
