In October 2024, hundreds of state and local leaders announced a 10-year, $600M investment in Downtown Pittsburgh. We set a vision to build a welcoming, safe, thriving neighborhood with lively public spaces and making investments that promise nearly 1,000 new and preserved units of housing.
One year later, we’ve made significant progress in construction projects, in critical cleanliness, public safety, and human services metrics. Three public realm projects are all on track to open by April 2026: Arts Landing, the new Cultural District civic space; an updated Market Square, including expanded outdoor dining options; and a refreshed Point State Park, including a refresh to the iconic fountain.
