DOOMED TO A CAREER OF MID CARS? The F1 Career of Nick Heidfeld (2000-2011)

I actually forgot Heidfeld drove for Prost, after driving for McLaren and their junior team. I also forgot he was at Sauber with Raikkonen only for Kimi to go to McLaren instead of McLaren's own driver, even if he probably wasn't a junior at the time.

Either way- Heidfeld had a lot of promise, but that move for Raikkonen from McLaren rather than Heidfeld almost doomed him to a career of mid cars, and when he got to a decent car, the next batch of good drivers like Vettel, Kubica and Hamilton were on the way through.

So what happened, and was he that good or are we just mis-remembering things? Let's have a look.
