Irene Bedard -- best known as the voice of, and physical model for, 'Pocahontas' in Disney's "Pocahontas" film, television and video game franchise and for portraying 'Suzy Song' in the film adaptation of Sherman Alexie's "Smoke Signals" (1998) -- reminisces about her career, shares behind-the-scenes stories and answers fan questions at her 2019 London Comic Con Q&A panel moderated by ???.

Irene Bedard (born July 22nd, 1967 in Anchorage, Alaska) is an American actress of Inupiat, Yupik, Inuit, Cree and Métis ancestry who studied Musical Theatre at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has played many Native American characters in a variety of films. Her first role was as 'Mary Crow Dog' in the television production "Lakota Woman: Siege at Wounded Knee" (1994), which depicted the 1970s standoff between the US government and citizens of several Native nations, including many of the Pine Ridge Reservation, at Wounded Knee, South Dakota. Bedard famously voiced the eponymous heroine 'Pocahontas' in the animated films "Pocahontas" (1995), its sequel "Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World" (1998) and "Ralph Breaks the Internet" (2018), in the animated TV series "House of Mouse" (2012), and the video games "Disney's Animated Storybook: Pocahontas" (1995), "Pocahontas" (1996) and "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom" (2012). As well, she appeared in a different take of the story in Terence Malick's 2005 film "The New World" as Pocahontas' mother, Nonoma Winanuske Matatiske.

Her extensive television experience includes recurring roles in the animated "Starship Troopers: The Series" (2000), the mini-series "Into the West" (2005) as 'Margaret "Light Shines" Wheeler,' the animated "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (2008-2009), "Longmire" (2012-2015), "The Mist" (2017) and "Westworld" (2018). In the 2017 music video for "Family Feud" (a song by Jay-Z), she plays a Co-President of the United States in the future. In 2012, she co-founded "Sleeping Lady Films" in Anchorage, Alaska and "Waking Giants Productions" in Santa Fe, New Mexico, both dedicated to sharing positive and inspirational stories from Indian Country with the world.
