Peter Ulbig - Hejo spann den Wagen an (2021)

This song is the German version of the British folk song "Hey ho, nobody home" composed by Thomas Ravenscroft (1590 - 1633). The text has been changed several times over the centuries and the German version was probably written in the 19th century. The German version is a request to harvest the grain before the rain falls. The song is usually sung as a canon with three groups of singers. The song was my favorite song in the elementary school choir when I was 8 years old. It has accompanied me through my entire life and due to the many wonderful examples of multitrack singing on YouTube, it was a longstanding wish of mine to produce this song in this form with my own voice.
