Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, was in Ranchi last Tuesday. Addressing the media, Minister Ramdas Athawale said that if Chief Minister Hemant Soren joins the NDA, the state will not face any shortage of funds. He said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha cannot work for the welfare of the tribals by being in alliance with the Congress. He also added that the central government does not discriminate against any state, but since Jharkhand is a tribal-majority state, he has a special affection for it. He clearly stated that Chief Minister Hemant Soren should leave the Congress and RJD and become a part of the NDA alliance. This statement by Ramdas Athawale is bound to heat up the political scene in Jharkhand.
