John Lasseter Accepts Steve Jobs' Disney Legends Award at 2013 D23 Expo

During the 2013 D23 Expo Disney Legends Award Ceremony, a saddened John Lasseter took to the stage to accept in honor of his close friend Steve Jobs, who helped back Pixar with money and guide it in the direction the company needed to go to get where it is today. John Lasseter admitted up front he didn't know if he could get through it, but he persevered while shedding some tears along with the audience.

This was a strange year for the Disney Legends Award Ceremony at the 2013 D23 Expo, because only 4 of the 8 receiving the prestigious title were alive to accept. Tony Baxter, Glen Keane, John Goodman, and Billy Crystal all accepted their awards in person. Collin Campbell, Dick Clark, and Ed Wynn were awarded the Legend status posthumously and had relatives on hand to accept.
