Southwell Festival Voices Christmas Cracker Series, conducted by Marcus Farnsworth.
"This has to be one of my favourite versions of this well known German tune. The setting is by Hieronymus Praetorius, a German composer of the Late Rennaissance / Early Baroque. It has great energy, and his writing for the inner parts of the choir as well as the soprano “descant” line is wonderfully inventive, adorning the original melody beautifully."
