【神戸旅日記】新しい年のはじまりに、旅へ出る理由｜海の上で迎える、静かな大晦日と元旦｜A Quiet New Year on the Sea

数年前から、年末年始のわが家は
「旅する実家」になっています。

「ふつう」なら、
帰省をするのが一般的かもしれません。

それでも年の暮に、あえて家族で旅に出る理由。
それは遠くを観光したいからではなく、
より軽やかなかたちで 新しい年を迎えるためです。

今回の「実家」は、神戸。
懐かしい昭和の雰囲気をとどめた、
海の上に浮かぶ豪華客船のようなホテルに滞在しました。

海上で過ごした 静かな大晦日と、
初日出に続いて ゆっくりと始まる 新年の朝。
そこで出会ったのは、
港町らしく 文化の交叉する あたたかな催しと、
生田神社の背に佇む ちいさな森⸺。

観光情報の再生産ではなく、
元旦のまっさらな気持と余白を大切にした、
年末年始の記録です。

何かをしながら、
あるいは一息つく時間に。

For the past few years, our New Year holidays have become a kind of traveling home.

Taveling with my family at the end of the year,
is not to go sightseeing far away,
but to welcome the new year with a lighter heart.

This time, our “home” was Kobe.
We stayed at a hotel that feels like a grand ocean liner,
floating on the sea and holding traces of the Showa era.

New Year’s Eve spent above the water,
and a slow, quiet morning on January 1st.
Warm events where cultures gently cross, as befits a port town.
And a small forest we encountered during our first shrine visit of the year.

This is not a reproduction of travel information,
but a small record that cherishes the calm feelings
and open spaces of New Year’s Day.

I hope you’ll let it play softly
while doing something else,
or during a quiet pause.
