From the Maximilian Hotel to Marienplatz – A Perfect Munich Day

We began our day at the Maximilian Hotel in Munich, nestled on a quiet street just a short walk from the bustling heart of the city. Leaving the comfort of our elegant apartment, we strolled toward Marienplatz, Munich’s iconic central square. Along the way, the streets were alive with a mix of locals and tourists, the historic buildings casting long shadows in the warm Bavarian sun.

As we neared the Tal area, we made a welcome stop at the traditional Weisses Bräuhaus, one of Munich’s oldest and most beloved beer halls. With wooden interiors and servers in traditional dress, the atmosphere was cozy and authentic. We each ordered a cold Bavarian beer and decided to try something new—Obazda, the creamy, flavorful Bavarian cheese spread. Served with freshly baked pretzels, it was tangy, rich, and unlike anything we had tried before.

Refreshed, we continued on to Marienplatz, where the Glockenspiel chimed and crowds gathered to watch the ornate figures spin and dance. The square buzzed with energy and charm, surrounded by shops, cafés, and the grandeur of the Neues Rathaus.

To wrap up the day, we wandered through the pedestrian streets and ended with a quick visit to the Hard Rock Café Munich, where we browsed the rock memorabilia and grabbed a small souvenir.
