VIGIL | Dark Psychological Thriller (Suicide Awareness Film)

I was blessed to have my most recent original short film, Vigil, premiere this September at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. This film is a dark and surreal narrative that highlights the magnitude of mental suffering through intense personification of setting and the horrors that despair can impose on the mind. It features the work of some really talented actors and my original music score, recorded by the UWRF Cinema Symphony Orchestra.

This project has been an amazing experience for me, and, much of the time, was not very fun to work on. Vigil was a really challenging story to tell, and I’m really thankful for some special friends (Tim Guillaume and Kevin Chen) who helped me develop the screenplay last Summer, more than they will ever know. Kevin died from cancer earlier this year, but if I could tell him how much he helped to inspire my creative process and how I will create art for the rest of my life, I would. Even though it was an incredible burden to create, this project means a lot to me because I think this story really needs to be told, and I’m also really thankful for Ryan and Jax who portrayed these complicated characters really well.
