SCDF Day 2024 | Serving with Pride and Care

[SCDF Day - 35 Years of Protecting and Saving Lives and Property for a Safe and Secure Singapore]

On 15 April 1989, the Singapore Fire Service and Singapore Civil Defence Force merged as one, consolidating Singapore’s fire, rescue and emergency medical services response into a single organisation.

To commemorate the merger, the SCDF Day Dining-In ceremony was held at the Civil Defence Academy yesterday evening. This annual ceremony serves as a platform for our officers to rededicate their commitment to our lifesaving mission and reaffirm our core values of Pride and Care. The event was attended by SCDF regular officers, full-time National Servicemen, Operationally Ready National Servicemen and civilian staff.

The SCDF Day Dining-In Ceremony was graced by Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information and Second Minister for Home Affairs. In her speech, Minister Josephine Teo acknowledged and commended SCDF personnel who exemplified SCDF’s core values in and beyond the course of their duties.
