Powerstrat History: Claim by Sonor SHR 1 HS Fontaine Mid- Line Series/ Made in Germany 1987-90

This one is a Claim by Sonor Fontaine HS SHR Mid Line Series (1987-90).

History:
Hohner had acquired the Sonor drum company in the 1980s and wanted to launch a high-quality guitar line, so the name "Claim by Sonor" was developed (the name Sonor probably had a better reputation among professional musicians than the name Hohner).
Initial prototypes were commissioned from various manufacturers (including Godin and Höfner – I saw some Claim bodies myself during a visit to Höfner in Bubenreuth in 1993). However, the vast majority of "Claim by Sonor" guitars were built by Shadow in Erlangen, which had set up its own guitar production facility in 1987.
Production of Claim guitars continued until 1990. Then Hohner decided to move away from the wild rock and roll business and focus again on harmonicas and accordions. Production of Hohner guitars in Korea was also discontinued.
The "Claim by Sonor" guitars are high-quality instruments with Schaller hardware and are real bargains on the used market today.
Shadow continued to build guitars under his own name for some time and then refocused on the production and development of pickups.

Claim Blend CBM-1: Tone modules that were originally installed on Claim guitars. To activate them, you need a push pot, which is installed in place of the tone pot. In normal operation, the push pot functions as a normal tone pot. Pulling out the spindle activates the sound module, which, thanks to clever internal circuitry, allows for slightly glassy and hollow sounds. The CBM-1 module is designed for HSS or HS pickup configurations and requires a 500kOhm push pot (note: the humbucker must be splittable). The Blend Sound module operates passively. Sorry, this one doesn’t work.
