This month demo is our Vice President, Harold Mills, showing us how he makes a Wedding Goblet which has 2 captive rings all made from one piece of wood. It gives you techniques for mounting a long piece of wood stable enough to hollow without stabilizer support. He also uses a combination of drills, Forstner bits and a router bit to rough out the cup for simple process for scraping to finish the shape. The idea is to use tools that most of us have in there shop to makes the rings, which are then sanded using the goblet stem itself.
