The SCS Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle Route EXPLAINED (TfL London Buses) Cyclists Only

The new Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle (SCS) has started running. This route is a shuttle service for cyclists only.

Passengers without a bike are not allowed onboard. The cycle shuttle is one of three routes to use the new Silvertown Tunnel. It was created as cyclists are not permitted to ride through the tunnel.

The SCS runs every 12 minutes. It runs daily, from 06:30 until 21:30. The SCS has two stops, each on opposite sides of the River Thames. The northern stop on Seagull Lane in Royal Victoria. And the southern stop is on Millenium Way, near North Greenwich.

The SCS will be free to use for a year. The route will run for at least three years.

The route uses zero-emission single decker buses. These are ADL BYD Enviro200EVs from 2020. They were originally used on route 323 (Mile End to Canning Town). The SCS is operated by Stagecoach London. The route runs from West Ham (WH) garage. West Ham will close soon, Meaning the SCS will transfer to Ash Grove (HK) garage.

The SCS has a peak vehicle requirement of 3 buses, with 2 spares. These are 62401 (LF20XKO), 64202 (LF20XKP), 64203 (LF20XKS), 64204 (LF20XKT) and 64205 (LF20XKU).
