What an incredible experience this was guys! I was hunting with my friends and fellow members of the Fountain of Youth Outdoors. We had Alyson, the winner of our cow elk hunt and her father out looking for elk when I spotted this big bull approximately 2,000 yds away. I had my favorite Phelps reed with me, but forgot my bugle tube! So I cut the bottom of a water bottle off and did my best to emulate another bull. Let me tell you, it worked! Never in my life have I called a bull in from so far away!
We only had a cow tag, or this big bull would have been in trouble!
The best part of this hunt for me was having our families together with our lucky hunt winner! We made friends for life and introduced the next generation to elk hunting in a way that will never be forgotten.
