Chapter 5 from Groove Your Golf Swing My Way by Lee Trevino and Dick Aultman.
Top tips for the mental checklist that Mr. Trevino went through to pull together a routine that eliminates both mental and physical tension.
I've included both images from the diagrams from the actual publication (out of print) as well as swing footage and newly released Open Footage.
All of the do's of the "Straight Edge Swing" are as follows:
-Visualize your flight path.
-Keep flight path in mind during the shot.
-Back of left hand and clubface should be aligned.
-Control of the left hand should be in the last 2 or 3 fingers.
-Aim the face to the left of the flight path. Match your stance.
-Clubhead should start outside flight path.
-Slide your left hip and leg throught the shot.
-Accelerate your left arm through.
-Keep you head steady.
The donts you will see in there but I dont want any emphasis on those since most teachers do that instead of telling you what you NEED to do!
