Montreal has received 75 centimeters (29.5 inches) of snow last week. This is a significant amount, especially considering it usually takes the entire winter season to accumulate the average annual snowfall of 211 centimeters (83 inches). The City of Montreal has estimated that it will take at least eight days to clear the snow from the recent storms. The cost of removing the snow from this recent storm in is estimated to be over $50 million. Currently, more than 3,000 city workers have been deployed to clear the snow in Montreal. The city is working hard to manage the aftermath of the recent snowstorms and ensure the streets and sidewalks are safe and accessible.
