This was released as the A-side of a single in June 1958, but only the B-side, "Midnight" charted on the Hot 100 (at #69, #26 in the UK). Verboten did chart in Toronto, Ontario, Canada making it to the Top 20 there in August 1958. This pretty song comes from the movie of the same name, meaning "forbidden" in German.
Original Billboard review: "Anka warbles "Verboten", the title waltz from a coming flick, in solid fashion. This is his first soundtrack tune. His vocal is given lush orchestra backing."
