Creating My First Stamp Exhibit – The Cape Robin-Chat!

In this episode of Great Stamp Adventure, I take you through the creation of my very first stamp exhibit, which I entered in the Ambury Shield Competition—an interclub event for the northern part of New Zealand. The process was challenging yet exciting, and I owe a lot to the workshops organized by our club’s president, Ross Haycock, which really helped me get started.

My exhibit centers on the Cape Robin-Chat ("Cossypha caffra"), a memorable bird from my Pretoria garden in South Africa. The exhibit had four pages. I structured the exhibit using a typical fact sheet format, covering everything from the classification and phylogenetic relationships of Robin-Chats to the bio-ecology of the Cape Robin-Chat—including its distribution, habitat, feeding habits, behavior, and human interactions. I ended the exhibit with an epilogue. I also share the judges’ evaluation. Join me as I reveal the pages and share the insights I gained from this thematic stamp exhibit journey.
