IRAN, Lorestan, Shirez Valley - دره شیرز، لرستان، کوهدشت

At the confluence of the three provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam and Lorestan, a piece of land has shown its beauty and wonders. Shirez valley is located 55 km from Kuhdasht city in Lorestan province. This gorge is located on the eastern side of the Yellow Mountain Range and adjacent to the Seymareh River, the main tributary of the Karkheh.
This valley is 5 km long and there is a river flowing in the middle of it which joins Seymareh river at the entrance of Shears. This valley stretches from Godargeh village to Seymareh river. This place is surrounded by walls with a height of 150 to 200 meters. The slope of these walls begins with a height of less than ten meters near the village of Godargeh and culminates in the precipice of Haft Rak and the end of the valley.
Shirez with its special rock geometry and unique geostructural phenomenon is a special geotourist attraction in the Zagros fold. Geologists believe that this valley is formed as a result of erosion of sedimentary rocks with a specific layering.
