Another First for the Windsor–Essex Region
Windsor–Essex continues to lead the way in innovative construction. Following Leamington’s milestone achievement as the site of Canada’s first 3D-printed home in 2022, the region is now celebrating another national first.
A new multi-storey 3D-printed residence is currently under construction at 1025 California Avenue in Windsor, marking Canada’s first 3D-printed student housing project. The building is being developed adjacent to the University of Windsor by Printerra, a Toronto-based company specializing in advanced construction technologies.
In addition to designing and constructing 3D-printed homes, Printerra operates a dedicated R&D and training facility at York University in Markham, where they continue to advance the future of sustainable building.
