President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañan Palace on November 25, 2023.
As the festive Yuletide spirit is now being felt across the country, the President confers awards to the winners of the National Parol-Making Competition dubbed, ‘Isang Bituin, Isang Mithiin’, led by the Office of the President (OP), Office of the Social Secretary and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The competition gathered around 86 Christmas lanterns or ‘parol’, created by various state universities across the nation.
Filipino music icons Jose Mari Chan, Rita Daniela, Coro de San Jacinto and the Cagayan State University Chorale serenade the President and the First Family, members of the Cabinet and other invited guests.
