YUCATAN Mexico Road Trip 🇲🇽 | Cenotes + Puerto Morelos (Mexico 2021)

LETS GO ON A ROAD TRIP!!!

We took a rented car with our new friend Nicki and drove from Playa Del Carmen to Puerto Morelos. Along the way we searched for cenotes and then chased the sunset towards Punta Esmeralda, which is one of the only sunset spots in all of Yucatan.
We started the day in a cheeky restaurant called Tacos dot com .. which had the BEST tacos as well as fresh fruit juice and strong coffee.

Puerto Morelos is a Mexican port town on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It’s between the Riviera Maya resorts of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, but retains some of its original fishing village character. The Puerto Morelos Reef National Park has many offshore dive sites. Turtles breed on coastal beaches. Inland are freshwater sinkholes including Las Mojarras Cenote and Verde Lucero Cenote.

THE CENOTE WE VISITED :
Cenote Ojo De Agua "Ich Ha"
This is located on Ruta De Cenotes (close by to Puerto Morelos)

Punta Esmeralda :
Embark on a little slice of paradise in Playa del Carmen and visit this free, untouched white sand beach public beach just off of Fifth Avenue. Filled with freshwater, this crystal-clear cenote with shallow conditions is the perfect wading pool for children or for those looking to take a dip and cool off. Relax on the sand, frolic in the water, and marvel at the jaw-dropping views of the Caribbean Sea. Watch the source of the water bubble up from the underground river system and feed directly into the cenote. There are plenty of shaded areas and picnic tables, as well as a playground for the little ones.

Unlucky for us, it was a cloudy day at the Playa and we did not get the sunset we wanted, but nonetheless it was an amazing day, full of speed bumps, smiles & laughs.
