In 1999, Amway launched its first online business in North America named Quixtar. At the time, e-commerce was untested in direct selling, so Amway decided to brand its online venture with
a name that captured the speed and excitement of doing business online.

They called the website Quixtar.

The Quixtar e-commerce web site was a perfect online addition to the Amway person to person business model. In 2008 the Quixtar e-commerce brand consolidated with a name change back to Amway, bringing together the two brands.
