What is Tableau Vivant? • Introducing my illustrated tableau vivants • Kramned

I love cultural history, historical clothing, interior and portrait paintings.
Therefore I have embarked on this project to illustrate everything I like in the format of a room. A room setup with objects, furniture and characters in costumes all to represent everything from significant musicians, movies, personalities and scientists to interesting social issues and cultural movements.

In this video I try to explain and show what mean by I paint Tableau Vivants. These are representations of pictures, scenes etc. of one or more persons suitably costumed and posed.
For example in this video I explain how I made a Tableau Vivant of a music video by Phoenix called If I Ever Feel Better. This music video and song has been meaningful to me and I wanted to pay my respects with a painting.

Disclaimer: I did indeed have to film the music video with my camera to show you examples and I hope it will not offend anybody's rights of the content.

The next video will be a painting of me in my studio. It is a representation of me being a fully formed Illustrator, which is still in making - this being a Tableau Vivant of me posing as an illustrator.

After that follows a Tableau Vivant of the movie Naked Lunch and so on and so forth.

What do I want to get out of this project?
I hope to connect with some of you out there who likes the same movies, music and cultural history as I do.
I also hope to improve my skills in regards to painting and becoming an illustrator.
