How to make a Chevron woven panel, Fabric Weaving project

This week we’re making a fabric weaving project. It’s a Chevron woven panel, part of our Summer 2020 set. We've framed the finished panel but you can use it as part of a quilt's design, or when making items of clothing for a unique effect.

If you make it a little bit larger, you can easily turn it into a cushion or a bag. To increase its size you have to make the strips longer. Then you can either make them wider to cover the extra space, or continue to add more strips in whichever direction you need. You will create a bigger chevron if you extend the pattern from the top and bottom, but if you flip the pattern every 5 strips you can create a zigzag design.

Experiment with it and show us some photos of what you create, but more importantly: have fun doing it!

The fabric strips used in this project are:
Orange: 9 fabric strips 2.5cm x 25cm
White: 9 fabric strips 2.5cm x 25cm

Other supplies:
Pinning mat (eg. foam board or cork board)
Pins
Tape (use masking tape or washi tape)
Wefty needle or a pair of tweezers
