Snowy Faun baby | OOAK art doll making process

Meet Lumi, the Snowy Faun baby - my very first jointed doll.
I've never owned one, but also didn't want to follow anyones tutorial. I just wanted to work it out for myself and have fun in the process. It was a struggle though and the project was riddled with many problems and setbacks. For the first time, I encountered clay mooning and cracking, and "hidden" air bubbles, that only got revealed after sanding! I also messed up while varnishing and then one of the SD cards broke inside my MacBook and I lost all the data... I filmed the last parts of the video again, but footage of sculpting the arms, painting the veins and cutting the hair has been lost.
This project took 7 weeks to finish, including filming and video editing. I loved it all, but I'm glad it's finished now and I can share it with you all and get some proper sleep finally 😊 Enjoy! 💕

DIY posable OOAK art doll.
Materials used:
Doll body
• Super Sculpey Living Doll polymer clay (fair)
• Sculpey Bake & Bond oven-bake clay adhesive
• Sculpey clay softener for smoothing the surface before baking
• Fimo sanding sponges for smoothing the surface after baking
• Joints - Cosclay Doll (faerie light)
• Horns and hooves - Cernit polymer clay (translucent white)
• Hands - 0,3 mm copper wire
• Legs - 3 pieces of 2 mm aluminium wire twisted together, wrapped with 1 mm stainless steel wire for protection. Upholstery batting glued on with PVA. Foam underwrap tape. Faux fur fabric.
• Stainless steel hooks, elastic + 1 bead
• Silicone circle + faux suede for protection
• Magnets glued with E6000 Plus
• Horns glued with E6000 Plus

Painting
• Vallejo acrylic paint
• Rembrandt soft pastels
• Vallejo Matt Spray Varnish
• Vallejo Gloss Varnish

Hair
• 100% acrylic yarn
• PVA glue
