The biggest hope of millions of elderly pensioners under the Employees' Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) was that this time the government would increase the minimum pension from ₹1,000 to at least ₹7,500. From social media to newspapers, news was rife that this would be approved in the CBT (Central Board of Trustees) meeting in October 2025. However, the Labor Ministry's written response during the winter session of Parliament put an end to all speculation.

Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) के तहत पेंशन लेने वाले लाखों बुजुर्गों की सबसे बड़ी उम्मीद थी कि इस बार सरकार न्यूनतम पेंशन को ₹1,000 से बढ़ाकर कम से कम ₹7,500 कर देगी। सोशल मीडिया से लेकर अखबारों तक खबरें गर्म थीं कि अक्टूबर 2025 की CBT (सेंट्रल बोर्ड ऑफ ट्रस्टीज) बैठक में इस पर मुहर लग जाएगी। लेकिन संसद के शीतकालीन सत्र में श्रम मंत्रालय ने जो लिखित जवाब दिया है, उसने सारी अटकलें खत्म कर दीं।
