So after a long break from playing Elite I decided to return to see what was new in Chapter 4.
Top of my to do list is to test out the new ships the Phantom and the Mamba.
The Mamba has been poorly received by the community in general due to her poor agility and undersized power distributor and I think those are valid points.
However she is extremely fast and well armed with decent shields so I felt that by remedying her faults with some engineering she might be able to perform well in combat.
So I took her into the new and improved Conflict Zones to test her and was pleasantly surprised when she proved up to the task.
The Mamba wouldn't be my combat ship of choice but she is cheaper than any of the big three and isn't rank locked so she might hit the sweet spot for some CMDRS and is definitely worth considering.
