Faulty Embedded Software Timing is one of the main reasons why we still see many task forces in automotive software projects. System overload, synchronization issues, missed deadlines and other timing-related problems are hard to get under control in the world of classic microcontrollers. It becomes even more challenging for high performance ECUs with their complex processors and hardware accelerators. Why is that so and how can the Embedded Software Timing challenges be cushioned for high performance ECUs which the SDV heavily relies on?
While there is no ‘Silver Bullet’ (sorry about that!), the talk will point to dos and don’ts, name optimization approaches on a technical level and also give management advice.
