This is the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. And you may think this focal length is not that interesting. So what’s so special about this lens? Oh well, it’s “SMALL and COMPACT”, I personally think this Sigma 18-50mm is the world’s smallest f/2.8 APS-C zoom lens on the market.

As I do a lot of traveling. Compact set up is the key for me. Especially when the lens is just 290g. Even tho I wish the lens was a bit wider like the Sony 16-55mm f/2.8 G. But that lens is 3 times more expensive than the Sigma one.

So I recently went to Singapore for a short trip and I used my A7IV to do the video. And yes, the A7IV is a full frame camera. But as you may know 4K 60p has a super 35mm crop. So it makes sense to use an APS-C lens. In fact, Sony uses the A7IV to promote their APS-C lenses line up.

Over all the image quality is superb, and I did not see a lot of distortion in the corners.
And the auto focus was pretty decent too.
