The instrument tie and surgeon's knot are the cornerstone of suturing in the acute setting. You have to master the concepts in this video. You can practice this several hundred times with your practice suture kit. Make sure to pull your suture thread in opposite directions with each throw so you SQUARE THE KNOT! This reduces the likelihood of unraveling.
