This has to be one of the most intimidating pieces of wood I’ve ever put on the lathe. It looked like moon rock, felt like stone, and turned like concrete. This monstrous brown oak burl tested every bit of skill (and patience) I had — but I had a feeling there might be something worth uncovering deep inside. In this video, I take on the ugliest, hardest, meanest burl I’ve ever tackled… and the results genuinely surprised me.
