Every Gozo Village Square in One Ride | Christmas eBike Tour

Today’s video is my longest ride yet – an 11:24 Christmas eBike tour visiting every single village square in Gozo, Malta. Once a year, towards the end of December, I loop around the island and ride through all 17 main pjazez in one go. This was my sixth straight year, filmed on a Sunday afternoon between Christmas and New Year, with decorations still up and the easy-going rhythm of village life in the background.

I’m on the eBike rather than the mountain bike, fighting the daylight to link all 17 squares: from Xagħra’s Pjazza Vittorja under the Maria Bambina basilica, through the hilltop basilica of Nadur, the heart of Qala and Għajnsielem’s Pjazza tad-Dehra, past the huge Rotunda in Xewkija, the quieter rural squares of Sannat, Munxar and Kerċem, the springs at Fontana’s Pjazza l-Għejjun, the western villages of San Lawrenz, Għarb, Għasri and Żebbuġ, and finally the different faces of Victoria (Rabat) – from busy It-Tokk to Pjazza San Ġorġ and Pjazza San Franġisk by the Ministry for Gozo.

It’s a slow-paced, silent scenic POV ride: no talking, just the whirr of the motor, tyre noise and the soundtrack as we roll through Gozo’s pjazzez, with churches, band clubs, cafés and decorations framing each square.
