An archaeological dig on our neighbouring island of Sashima, unearths some surprising findings, and I discover just how much sea levels have changed since people started calling these Islands home over 12,000 years ago.
The Jōmon ceramics discovered here are from the Initial Jōmon period (10,000 to 6000 years ago). Although a shard was found that dated from the earlier Incipient Jōmon (15,750-10,00 years ago), but that was from a previous trench, not shown here.
The skeleton has been dated to early 12th century. Not the late 12th to early 13th century as initially thought.
As more information becomes available, will update. DNA results along with final site summary.
This is the first time I have done a video like this, and is a style of video I am keen on pursuing, hopefully they will only get better.
