Join me on a walk through my favourite countryside hedgerow as I identify various edible and medicinal plants (which unfortunately are referred to as useless weeds by many). The end result being a super nutritious wild food salad, eat ya greens!! 🥬🌿💚
Identified plants in the video: white dead nettle, stinging nettle, lesser celandine, ribwort and broadleaf plantain, common dandelion, wild garlic, garlic mustard, ground ivy, common primrose, hawthorn leaves. PS primroses are protected in northern ireland so you’re not supposed to pick them there. As for the UK they don’t seem to currently be on the protected list. However, like all the flowers, they are important for the pollinators and butterflies who like to lay their eggs under the leaves. So pick only a few. 🌼
This is just a guide where I am sharing my knowledge, not giving advice. I have been foraging for 5 years & I do spend a lot of time researching and cross checking my sources, but there is still so much more to learn and I forage with caution. Please also do your own research if you want to forage and consume wild fungi & plants. It’s not safe to ‘assume’, you need to be 100% sure & seek opinions.
