This video is about the six questions every news story and news release should answer. The six questions are also known as the five W’s and an H, and these are Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. Taken together, these questions offer a formula explaining how to start writing an inverted pyramid story.
The first part of this video introduces the formula (0:39), and the second part looks at how the formula changes from story to story (06:09). You will notice that throughout the video the formula gradually gets a bit more complicated in part because of how grammar works when you are writing up the five W’s and an H.
