SP 9806, SP 9778 and SP 9818 hustle the QRVDO-27 down the Coast Line on January 27, 2002. After pacing the train south of Morgan Hill, we set up at Gilroy, Aromas and Watsonville Junction, where a half dozen Southern Pacific, Cotton Belt and Rio Grande GP40-2s and GP60s wait in between weekday assignments on the various Coast locals.
For those who just have to know the reporting marks of all those scarlet, grey, gold and black geeps at Watsonville Junction: SP 7119, SSW 9666, SP 7952 (last Espee unit with a gyralight, which it had when I shot this), SP 7116, DRGW 3094, SSW 9661.
